What is NaNoWriMo?
NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, is a month long writing challenge over the month of November. In theory, by November 30th you will have written 50,000 words, 1,667ish a day. For more information you can check out their website HERE, and if you are doing NaNo add me as a writing buddy HERE.
What am I writing?
As it stands, and I say that because my track record with sticking to one project is patchy, I am going to be developing an idea I came up with around January. I’m not going to give you any details, because it’s not something that I feel comfortable doing at this stage. However, what I will say that it’s Star Wars inspired, and I do have a Pinterest Board HERE if you want to get a feel for the aesthetic.
How am I writing?
I tend to write anything of length on my laptop, and on Microsoft Word, though I might make use of the Ulysses free trial this year. The reason for this is mostly because it’s so much easier to keep an eye on that word count, and also it’s just a lot quicker. I’m also terrible and darting back an for between chapters, and within chapters, so that’s easy to do on my MacBook.
Am I going to win?
It definitely wouldn’t surprise me if I did not win this year. Of course I want to win, I managed it for the first time last year, but my circumstances have changed since then, so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that I could fail miserably. However if I’ve said it once, I’ll say it a thousand more times, no matter how much you write this month, you’ll have more by the 30th, than you had of the 1st.
Are you competing in NaNo, or have you in the past? What are you writing at the moment?
