NaNoWriMo 2017: Wrap-Up

Hi guys!

As I’ve hinted at NaNoWriMo was pretty much non-existent for me this year, so let’s talk about it shall we…

My First Mistake

Everyone says not to edit during NaNo… so why did I think I would rewrite whole chapters? I don’t know what I was thinking. All I can say is that if you ever do NaNo DO NOT EDIT! It’s a time consuming process that will just put youbeihnd before you’ve really started. So, I will not be doing that next time.

 And then…

I just didn’t have the time, or the motivation, to recover myself, and get back on track. I defiantly found it a lot harder writing from home (instead of from my uni house). But I don’t want to sit here and give you all these excuses, if I’d really wanted to I would have carved out the time, I would have sat down and written, but I didn’t.

Next Time?

“What do you mean next time? You had a horrible month and didn’t win, you really going to put yourself though this again?” Hell yes! It was a bad year for me, but I still love to write, and I still love NaNoWriMo!

My grand total was… 6,596

Obviously this wasn’t what I had planned, especially after last years win, but it’s 6,000 words I didn’t have last month.

Did you do NaNoWriMo this year, and did you win? If not, did you write something? How do you make time to write?

Thanks for reading!

Victoria
